Youth at the Frontlines of Climate Action: Local Solutions for a Climate-Vulnerable Somalia

Second Session of the 2026 Youth Dialogue Series Convenes in Mogadishu

Balqiis Insights successfully held the second session of its 2026 Youth Dialogue Series, convening emerging leaders, practitioners, and young professionals to examine one of Somalia’s most urgent challenges: climate vulnerability.

Under the theme “Youth at the Frontlines of Climate Action: Local Solutions for a Climate-Vulnerable Somalia,” the forum provided a structured platform for evidence-based dialogue and solution-oriented discussion.

Elevating Youth Voices in Climate Response

Participants shared perspectives drawn from field experience, policy engagement, and community initiatives. Discussions highlighted the disproportionate impact of climate change on Somalia, including drought cycles, displacement, food insecurity, and environmental degradation.

Young leaders emphasized the need for localized, community-driven climate responses that reflect Somalia’s socio-economic realities.

From Vulnerability to Resilience

The session explored practical adaptation strategies, grassroots innovation, and the importance of integrating youth leadership into national climate frameworks. Speakers underscored that sustainable climate action must combine policy reform, community participation, and long-term resilience planning.

The dialogue reinforced the role of youth not merely as beneficiaries of climate policy, but as active architects of climate solutions.

Building Momentum for Sustainable Impact

The 2026 Youth Dialogue Series continues to serve as a catalyst for informed debate, cross-sector collaboration, and strategic thinking. By fostering inclusive engagement, Balqiis Insights remains committed to strengthening youth-led contributions to peace, sustainability, and national development.
